Glenda's Assignment
My current assignment is to assist Steve as we build our ministry team through which the Lord will enable us to go to our field assignment. I continue to homeschool the kids, and we work together in preparing and being ready so we may "travel light". Is it possible to shed all the STUFF and be free from it to travel wherever the Lord would lead us? Currently, Steve accepted the assignment to serve at the Wycliffe headquarters in Orlando, Florida with the computer missionary team there that assists missionaries all around the world in various ways. I will continue to focus on homeschooling when we move and the adjustment for the family from rural to urban living. Growing up in Minneapolis, the Lord prepared me for this, but it will be interesting for the whole family to experience this adjustment as well as climate change. After the tour of the headquarters (when our family was there for training camp) we saw empty chairs of missionaries having to leave to go and work on getting their funds built back up with more financial partners and the great need for many different types of skills and gifts all over in this ministry. After our family adjusts, I am so excited to volunteer some administrative help and to learn many new things in which I can contribute to the cause of reaching people around the world through Bible translation and literacy work! We wait for the green light, when the Lord says, "GO"! Until then, our mission field is wherever we are of course, and that is what is so exciting about being ambassadors for Christ!
