Step by Step

Welcome to our website!  We are so excited about your interest in what God is doing in the world to spread His Word!

Each of us has a "step by step", including you!  We look back and see, step by step, how God has lead us to this point in life.  Our step by step into missions with Wycliffe was escalated when our kidz grew more deeply interested in missions personally after we attended a missions conference in the fall of 2005.  We are so thankful this small rural church planned this simple conference that made a big difference!  Seeds were planted and watered for the Kingdom.  The excitement and passion our kidz were expressing made us realize we needed to consider what God is calling us to do.  We always thought we'd consider full-time missions....but of course "in the future, not now".

We both knew about Wycliffe Bible Translators from the speakers at the Bible schools we went to.  After we were married, we went on short-term mission trips together and on our own.  This won our heart for missions forever.  The missions based homeschool curriculum we use has been planting seeds of awareness over the years, and our regular particiaption in local churches has also equipped us for this next step.

When we found out that we could use our skills and talents in the areas of Information Technology (IT) and administrative support for the Lord to enable His Word to be spread to the Bible-less peoples of the world, we were delighted.  We knew we needed to consider God's call on us as a family.  Some IT work, like computer programming, can sometimes seem like building sand castles.  Like water coming to wash away the castle, a program is written and soon obsolete in constant change.  But nothing seems more rewarding than to invest our time and the life skill of computer programming to help bring the Bible to those who still need it in their own language.  This eternal investment is covered with a wonderful promise.  "The grass withers and the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever."  Isaiah 40:8

Working from our home in MN, Steve has accepted an assignment with the computer missionary team at the Wycliffe headquarters in Orlando, Florida.  He works with Wycliffe missionaries located in Orlando, FL; Waxhaw, NC; and Dallas, TX. Glenda supports Steve as his administrative assistant, will continue homeschooling their three children, and be an encouragement in the various opportunties for local ministry and church mission presentations.

We continue our journey as we build our ministry team of prayer warriors and financial partners enabling us to serve full time on the field.  "Then He (Jesus) said to His disciples,  "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.  Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into His harvest field."  Matthew 9:38

We call our newsletter The Kvale Connection because as we desire to serve the Lord we can be a connection for those considering missions, those participating in missions from home, and those sending others into missions.  Each of these people are part of the body of Christ, the Church.  As we share about Wycliffe Bible Translators, God's call on our family, and our personal story with churches or individuals, we desire to be Connecting the Church to Bible-less people groups and Bible-less people groups to the Church.  And of course, the goal is to see joyful worshippers engaged in song and celebration because of coming to know Christ as their personal Savior through His written Word.  How precious this is to see those living in the darkness of fear and superstition be brought into His marvelous light of truth and freedom in Christ!

"....to every nation, tribe, language, and people."  Revelation 14:6

Check IT Out.  Jesus calls fisherman, tax collectors, physicians, -- and IT professionals?  The Great "IT" Commission!
