Our Photo Album

Thanks for visiting our photo album.  Sorry the photos are not in order as we'd like them.  It seems the feature for me to move these pictures around and organize them is playing tricks right now.  So hopefully this snap shot style collection with captions will give you a glimpse at least into our journey to Wycliffe Bible Translators and beginning our mission assignment plus the things to see in our country along the way.  We are in awe of God's hand leading us in this work and on the path with the many people we are meeting.  Together with God's enabling we will reach those without God's Word.

Going South. About 180 miles to Nashville and the next host family. Here we come Nashville! We're almost there, Orlando. Wycliffe Bible Translators is the destination.

Okay, honey, we'll stop for gas but it's not even on the E yet.

What? Do my school work? Does this look like a school room to you?

Who said you can't make forts in the van?

Whew! All that late night driving. Glad for this pit stop in Georgia.

Taking in a bit of history at this stop.

Hey! Entering Kentucky where our heart for missions was born!

Beautiful scenes along the way.

Interesting roadside scenes in creation.

We visited Wycliffe International in Dallas, TX.

family photo Winter 2008.

On our way back from FL by way of Dallas, TX then north to MN we stopped at the first sign of snow in the ditch in IA so Neli and Lenaya could play in the snow they missed while in Orlando.

When we share at churches and schools we put up at posters of the Bibleless Peoples. It is always a blessing to see people taking interest in the huge poster listing the over 2,200 people groups without God Word and shows location, population, etc. This posters help some realize how real it is that some many are without any of God's Word yet. Some people have special interest in certain parts of the world and have many questions. Some look at this poster and weep as their hearts sense the need for the gospel to be brought to the lost.

It is a blessing how the Lord provides host families as needed in our travels. It is a joy to visit, learn from, and pray with them each place we stay. Urah took us in Louisiana and we tried fresh grapefruit and kamquat.

A former pilot and his wife took us in in Alabama. It is fun to learn and take in what other peoples hobbies and interests are like this airplane project. God blesses all of us with various gifts and talents and we can consider how we will use our talents everyday to bless others for the kingdom. Host families are a blessing their hospitality ministry we could never put words to it what it does for this journey in the Lord. It makes perseverence and commitment and continuous link.

Jason appreciated getting to work with several Wycliffe Associates at the Wycliffe Headquarters in Orlando, FL. Construction, general maintenance, good hard work he likes and great times with them during coffee breaks and when they took him out for pizza with them too!

Jason caught grasshoppers at one of our stops and made things a bit interesting in the vehicle! There was screaming and laughing. I'm glad he caught it quickly when he had one that got loose in the vehicle and we were about to pull over. The caption I'll chose for this though, "I may be a missionary kid but we serve state side and I really don't have to eat that thing, Jason, get it away from me!"

Steve with the team while in Orlando from January to March 2009.

Jason enjoyed the chance to help Mr. and Mrs. Creson on spring yard work while in Orlando. Their commitment to the Bibleless challenges us as they travel, host many guests, and reminded Jason to consdier God's calling and whether he will be a member of his generation to reach the last languages with God's Word. Whatever your calling will be in your life, Jason, listen to God's voice and keep the vision. Bless you!

This is where Jason would check in with the Wycliffe Associates volutneer contruction team to see what his assignment would be that day. It was fun as a homeschool mom to see him get his work done so fast so he could get to the volunteer office.

Bridge ahead! We loved the many, many bridges we saw and crossed along all the travels in central and eastern US. 2009 has become our year of crossing bridges. Real bridges over the highways and byways and persoanl bridges in life lessons, schoolwork, and entering full-time missions with starting our first assignment. At every bridge we come to God askes us to trust Him. At every bridge we cross God shows Himself faithful!

We will continue to share at churches where ever God opens the doors for us to spread the vision for reaching the Bibleless. If your church or school would be interested in having us come share as a family, we'd love to! Please let us know.

We're heading back to MN! Pack the van. What is the matter? Can't get it shut? We have more to learn about traveling light for the Lord, eh? :)

Steve on the computer in the backgroudn. He is working on Skype from MN with Nate in Orlando, FL. Nate is the maanger of the Bible Peoples Prayer Project.

Appreciating a care package that was sent to us.
Thank you!

Lenaya discovers love for fishing on her 10th birthday. :) We pray we all continue to learn more and more about what it takes be fishers of men for Jesus too.

Schoolwork in the apartment on Wycliffe campus, Orlando, FL.

A children's A to Z Bibleless People's discovery adventure day at Wycliffe that Neliana and Lenaya went to. They were with a homeschool group from Tampa.

This photo turned out small, but can you find the stick pins in this map? These are the top twenty areas with the greatest translation needs.

Neliana checking email and hoping there is a friend out there somewhere.

Hey, the fish really are bitin'!
Neli enjoys life in MN and is grateful God rearranged our assignment from moving to staying and still serving full-time in the same way!
"Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men."

Meeting a missionary that served as a literacy specialist to the Quechua people.

Working with Cynthia who maintains the data base for the Bibleless Peoples Prayer Project.

Apartment living is not this country boys favorite! He's doing better now and looks forward to each afternoon to work hard with the Wycliffe Associates in construction, landscape, maintainence work and more. Everyday another interesting day to serve in some way.

Meetings/Devotions/Prayer Times with those on IT teams.

EnterMission that features worship with various testimonies, speakers, or interviews as we gather each Wednesday morning from 9-10 AM for this informative and refreshing time.

Jason demonstrating perfectly sliced cheese.

The image in our mind as we think of home. Our pump house with the wood stove in it and the pile of wood is our back yard scene. Ah, memories.

The Quechua New Testament Translation. Celebrate! God makes what seems impossible, Possible! May all people receive this gift.

Neli and Lenaya finding snails and putting them on the post by our apartment door.

Beautiful woven art. Peru.

A frog came to visit us on our porch too. Is it prince charming? What has disney done to us?

Another snail. They are interesting!

Now this I can handle. But where is the jungle?
I was looking forward to going to the jungle as a missionary! Point me to the next village.

Kid favorite. Poolside School.

Doing the dishes. This feels the same in Orlando too.

Entering IT department at Wycliffe USA.

We arrived safe and sound and excited to get started for the Lord in our first assignment here. Also grateful for God's amazing provision of this van. May every mile be for His glory.

One weekend at mini golf.

Funny, funny, Jason.

Fore! Five.....six....seven.....

Our journey south through the hills and mountains.

The girls choice, of course, more poolside school.

Jason had us pose for a valentine's day special at this Russell Stover's outlet. We then bought a box of mystery russell stover bloopers and enjoyed them on the trip. Little messy, but still yummy for a great lower price.

If you can see them, the girls are on their scooters in the center of the photo. They have put many miles on them around this campus.

Things we learned NOT to do for presentations!

Of course, Drama!

It was exciting to see these newly completed Bible translations dedicated when we were at training camp in September 2006.
