Who We Represent

2 Corinthians 5:20 "Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God."

Missions involves a partership of believers working together for the same goal and vision.  This goal and vision is to have a Bible translation project started in every language that needs one by the year 2025 and someday completed.  This is Wycliffe Bible Translators' Vision 2025.

1 Peter 4:10 "As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God."

Whether we are helping one another from where we live, traveling together, or are sending someone to represent us where we can't go, we are united in this same mission equally in purpose.  Romans 10:15 "How will they preach unless they are sent?  Just as it is written, 'How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news of good things'!"

We don't see ourselves as the only "missionaries".  We view our partners as going to the field with us, and we are committed to this partnership.  No level of involvement is insignificant or unimportant.

We have numerous prayer warriors that have joined us to commit this call on our family to serve with Wycliffe Bible Translators full-time to the Lord's perfect will and perfect timing.  Intercessory prayer must be the foundation of every mission.

There are numerous participants that share their one-time gifts for this ministry.  These gifts are important in that they fill the gap in unexpected times of crisis, extended travel, moving expenses, or one-time ministry expenses.

So far there are 45 indivduals or families that are members of our regular financial partnership team.  This encourages us!  We never know whom God might cause to join us as partners.  These faithful partners (along with churches that have partnered with us) enable us to serve full-time on the field and stay - contributing to progress in translation work.

Over the years we have had a desire to serve the Lord across denominational lines united in the work of Christ to bring the message of salvation to the lost.  We have worked hard to build relationships with churches and believers in various denominations.  Often in our culture we drive by many churches within the same neighborhood and only see the outside of their walls and wonder what they are up to inside those walls.  We have strived to help our children experience the inside of those walls we'd normally drive by so they'd be comfortable in various settings of worship and service for the Lord recognizing what God is doing in a given local church rather than get caught up in comparing "pros and cons" or denominational differences.  We have fellowshipped in Evangelical Free, Full-Gospel Charismatic, Free Lutheran, Lutheran Brethren, Christian and Missionary Alliance, Baptist, Calvary Chapel, Methodist, and Covenant churches.

Initially, three churches partnered regularly with us in this mission endeavor.  Steve's original home church, New Testament of Alexandria, MN, a full-gospel charismatic body of believers.  Our church of many years as a family and the church we experienced our short term mission trips through, Marshall Evangelical Free Church of Marshall, MN, an Evangelcial Free Church of America body of believers; and our current home church that initially affirmed us as we were sensing this call into full-time missions, Christ the King Free Lutheran Church of Pipestone, MN, an Association Free Lutheran Congregations body of believers.  Currently, we represent six churches.

In January 2007, we entered a working agreement between Wycliffe Bible Translators and the Association Free Lutheran Congregations.  We were invited, approved and accepted for their Missionary on Loan program and we are excited about how the Lord will build our relationship with these pastors and their congregations as we represent them in the mission of Wycliffe Bible Translators.

How can you become a partner in this ministry?  We'd count it a privilege and honor to reprensent YOU.
